Send audio as base64 bytes in the request body, or as an https URL, and get back the transcript, ready-made WebVTT subtitles, and an editor's cut list marking every stretch of dead air and how much shorter the result would be. Flat $0.02 per request, whatever the file — no per-MB component. Sources up to 800 KB: base64 is measured decoded, a URL is measured from the source's own content-length rather than anything the caller declares. No account, no API key and no upload step — if you are holding the audio, you can buy. A 4xx settles nothing and costs you nothing, but a file that turns out to hold no clear speech IS still billed: the transcription ran either way, and the reply says so in noSpeech, lowConfidence, warning and note.
